Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since March of that year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, backed up by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
